The Best Mechanical Keyboards of 2017 - Sales for Gamers & Typists

Posted on November 25, 2017

As we continue to slog through sales over the weekend, we’ve compiled some of the most attractive deals on keyboards—which might be some of the best deals yet, given the RAM, GPU, and SSD sales out there. We’ve rounded-up the best mechanical keyboards of 2017 and their subsequent Cyber Monday sales. If anyone is looking for a new plank for the holidays, here our some of our picks.

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum: Presently at $146, this is perhaps the best keyboard deal this year, as the Corsair K95 Platinum RGB routinely sells for a list price of $200, meaning a savings of around ~$50. The K95 Platinum RGB is Corsair’s flagship plank, offering Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX Speed switches (1.2mm actuation). The keyboard comes in an anodized aluminum frame, with either black or gunmetal finishes.

Corsair Strafe RGB: The Corsair Strafe RGB usually lists for $140, but is presently $99 – so this is another big discount on a high-end keyboard. The Strafe RGB doesn’t feature the lavish aluminum flourishes of the K95 Platinum, but it offers a detachable wrist rest and Cherry MX Brown, Red, or Blue switches; however, it only appears that the reds and blues are included in the sale. Similarly, the Corsair Strafe (red LED/non-RGB) is marked down as well, albeit not as much. We previously reviewed the Strafe here.

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB: Normally listed for $170, Corsair’s Gaming K70 is around $50 off, coming in at $120 on Newegg. Aluminum frame, RGB lighting, and Cherry MX Speed switches round-out the notables.

Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 RGB: $40 off one of Razer’s high-end keyboards, the BlackWidow Chroma comes out to $130 today, with its usual list price at $170. The deal only offers Razer Green switches (50g actuation force). RGB lighting is handled through Razer’s Synapse software, and the keyboard comes with a detachable wrist rest.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum RGB: Usually listed at $160, Newegg currently has this keyboard from Logitech at half off ($80). The keyboard offers full RGB backlighting and Logitech’s Romer-G switches.

Logitech G910 Orion Spark RGB: Another deal on Logitech is the G910 Orion Spark RGB. Usually listed at $170-$180, Amazon currently has it for $90. The G910 Orion Spark RGB offers the namesake RGB lighting, Logitech’s Romer-G switches, and Arx control app and smartphone dock. We reviewed the G910 here.

Logitech G610 Orion: The Logitech G610 is on sale for roughly 50% off (list price: $120, sale price: $60), making it a damn good option for budget-minded users looking for a mechanical board with respectable chops. It can be had with either Cherry MX Red or Brown switches in the sale.

Das Keyboard 4 Professional ($139): For the typist aficionados, the Das Keyboard 4 Professional is marked down from $169, making for a $140 price tag on what is a popular writing/minimalist plank.

SteelSeries: The following models from SteelSeries are all $20 off. Not great, but worth mentioning, in case anyone is in the market for any of the Apex keyboards.

SteelSeries Apex M750: $110

SteelSeries Apex M750 TKL: $100

SteelSeries Apex M500: $80
