Hardware Sales: G602 Mouse for $46, 80 Plus Platinum PSU for $110
Posted on December 13, 2015
The major retailers want you to buy stuff. Actually, all retailers do. And they'd prefer you do it before end of year. We're really not revealing news here – but there are a couple of good sales leading into the year's final stretch. Logitech's G602 wireless mouse – one that we use internally – is about half off, an 80 Plus Platinum 750W PSU is available at $110, and there's an i7-4790K for $300.
Logitech G602 Wireless Mouse ($46): Logitech's G602 mouse is wireless, has a couple macro keys, and has some of the longest battery life we've seen in a high-end, wireless mouse. The sensor's accuracy is spot-on, aided by a complete lack of smoothing and acceleration (or “speed-related accuracy variance”). This is the mouse we're using with one of our gaming HTPC setups, and it'd do well for anyone who doesn't like being tether to their rig.
Corsair HX750i 80 Plus Platinum PSU ($110): Our recent PSU wattage consumption post shows that, for the most part, 750W is overkill. Still, multi-GPU or high-end OC setups can make use of such wattage, and the 80 Plus Platinum efficiency saves on the power bill in the long-term. Check out our PSU wattage guide to see with which builds this would work best.
Intel Core i7-4790K CPU ($300): Marked down from its usual ~$330 price-point, the i7-4790K is still a leading CPU in the face of Skylake's far more expensive 6700K. Unless DDR4 is critical to your operation – and for gamers, it won't be – a 4790K is still one of the best-performers on the market.
