Gaming Hardware Sales: $170 GTX 960, $50 750W PSU, & Liquid Cooler
Posted on September 27, 2015
Newegg's Fall sales continue, and we've picked another mixed bag this week--a PSU, GTX 960 video card, a CLC, and a monitor. Check out the hardware sales below.
Rosewill Hive Series 750W Modular PSU ($50 w/promo code EMCAXNS38+rebate): An 80 Plus Bronze PSU for $50 is always a good deal, and a fully modular 750W PSU even more so. Take that with a grain of salt, though--$50 is a great price, but if you're planning to use the full 750W, you should probably be looking for something a little more expensive and efficient.
MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 ($170 after rebate): Is 4GB of VRAM worth it? It depends. The GTX 960 is a good GPU for under $200, and it's entirely possible that you won't need another 2GB. NVidia has also been including Heroes of the Storm DLC with their GPUs recently, if that interests you.
Corsair Hydro H60 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler ($52 w/promo code AFNJ2128+rebate): We've listed the H60 in our weekly sales roundup at least once before, but it's worth bringing it back again--Corsair's CLCs have reliably performed well in our benchmarks. The H60's radiator is fairly small at 120mm, but it's enough for CPUs that aren't seriously overclocked, and the fan can easily be traded out for a fancier model. The promo code stops working after today (9/27), but don't worry, it'll still only be $60.
Acer GN246HL 24" 1ms 144Hz LCD 3D Monitor ($200): This monitor has some impressive specs for $200, "while supplies last" – however long that is. It's mountable as well (and VESA ready), which is great news for anyone who's dealt with Acer's wobbly plastic stands.
Check back throughout the week for a motherboard review, CPU content, and PSU content.
