Gaming Hardware Sales – Corsair Cases & PSUs 20% Off, HyperX Headset, More
Posted on September 6, 2015
Our new PC build lands just under $400, making for one of the most affordable builds we've posted in recent history. Granted, it's also not very powerful – but not everyone needs raw power. In the process of assembling the CSGO/DOTA rig, we encountered a number of sales worth passing along. A 430W PSU for $20 (with reasonable components, too), HyperX Cloud headset, a motherboard, and a case are on rotation this weekend.
Corsair CX430 PSU ($20): This PSU is priced at $40, but includes a $20 MIR that brings the unit down to $20 total. MIRs are a bit annoying to ship in, though the $20 final price is worthwhile for users on restrictive budgets. A 430W PSU will supply ample power for low power gaming systems that don't “go big” on the GPU.
Corsair 330R Blackout Edition Case ($70): After $20 MIR, Corsair's 330R makes for an affordable solution as a discrete, mid-tower gaming enclosure. The unit uses a brushed look and includes two intake fans (1x 120mm, 1x 140mm), keeping consistency with low-noise, low-profile builds.
HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset ($80): The Cloud is one of the most versatile, portable headsets we've reviewed. It's certainly not as complex as Logitech's new G633 or G933 headsets and is more limited in its capabilities, but we've found it to be excellent for travel (like on planes, where noise isolation is a major plus) and portable gaming. The high build quality grants assurance that the unit won't easily break while in transit, something we can't say is true for a lot of headsets out there.
ASRock X99 Extreme4 Board ($181): After yet another MIR, ASRock's X99 Extreme4 motherboard ships at $181 (down $30 from $211), making it one of the most affordable X99 platforms available. It'd make the best sense to couple the Extreme4 with a low-end 5820K X99 CPU.
