Gaming Hardware Sales – Fractal Case, 250GB MX200 SSD, Z97 Motherboard
Posted on July 19, 2015
This weekend’s hardware sales round-up features one of Fractal’s best-known cases – the Define R5 – alongside an ASRock Z97 motherboard and Crucial MX200 SSD. The sales aren’t particularly strong this weekend, though we suspect that should change (especially for Z97 motherboards) as Skylake ramps into sales in August.
ASRock Z97 Fatal1ty Motherboard ($110): After $20 MIR, ASRock’s red-and-black Z97 motherboard drops down to just over $100. The board uses ATX form factor and offers the basics – a pair of PCI-e slots and an entry-level VRM – and not much else. For builders with minimal interest in overclocking and other advanced needs, like SLI, this board makes for a low-level starter.
Crucial MX200 250GB SSD ($103): Crucial’s MX line of SSDs have been in our go-to category for most system builds. The MX200 uses Micron’s 16nm MLC NAND, offering a mix of speed and endurance for performance-class users.
Fractal Define R5 Case ($100): Fractal’s Define R5 is presently 30% off. The case is the successor to the company’s same-line Define R4, and specializes in visual discretion and relative silence. This enclosure is primarily marketable to users who don’t want anything flashy and demand more silencing properties from their build.
We’ve got a few new PC builds coming this week, so stay tuned for those.
