Game Sales Round-Up: Assassin's Creed IV for $15, Civ V for $10, Wolfenstein for $30

Posted on October 3, 2014

After looking over our weekend sales round-up, it occurred to us that we always feature hardware, but that's only half of what this site is about. In light of this, we're going to start featuring games that are currently on unbeatable sales. Some of these will be newer games getting major sales for the first time, others will be older games with great deals that we want to let people know about. One of the major pushes of this is to find deals that are going to be out for a bit, so daily deals will typically not be listed. Let us know what you think of this feature and if there are specific games or genres you want us to keep an eye on. As usual, keep glued to our YouTube, facebook, and Twitter accounts for reviews, sales, and build tips as we release them.

wolfenstein-1

This week, we're featuring Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for $15, Wolfenstein: The New Order at $30, The Banner Saga for $10, and Sid Meier's Civilization V at only $10.

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag ($15): When AC:BF came out, it was pushed hard by NVIDIA for the graphics capabilities and managed to live up to the hype. The game has the same premise of all the other Assassin's Creed games (in case there were any doubts), with the player character reliving the memories of someone from the past through awesome technology – all driven by a sinister purpose, of course. Continuing the physical release versions, this one is currently 50% off.

Wolfenstein: The New Order ($30): I'll probably be slapped for yet another physical copy sale, but it's hard to argue with 50% off. We reviewed Wolfenstein at PAX East earlier this year and walked away happy with what we saw. Grab our most recent build and push the limits on this stylish FPS for some Nazi-slaughtering fun.

The Banner Saga ($10): Banner Saga brings a beautiful, 2D, classic animation style to the gaming industry. For those who appreciate good artwork and a focus on storytelling, this tactical RPG should bring a smile and feeling of nostalgia to old-skool gamers. It has been featured all this year with the AMD Never Settle Bundle at all reward levels as part of the indie bundle options. In case you weren't sure, this is also 50% off, but thankfully it's an online game code, so owners of the NXZT 440 won't have to break out an external optical drive to install this one.

Pick of the Week

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Game of the Year ($10): Sid Meier's games always have a major – and some may say “rabid” – following. Civilization V is no exception and is also one of the games we strongly recommend for benchmarking your CPU due to how well it pushes multi-threaded CPUs. Currently, this is on sale for $10.59 for a physical copy, which drops the price down almost 75%.

Last time I promised that I would reveal who really rules the world, but I was informed I'd lose my Illuminati membership, so instead, I'll just suggest that you don't look behind you. Now. Don't do it.
