Weekend Hardware Sales - 4670K, Z97 Board, Corsair 250D

Posted on June 29, 2014

The weekend sales roundup features an i5-4690K for $220, a Z97 motherboard at $125, a Mini-ITX case around $71, and the G700s gaming mouse for only $60. This next week should have more sales as the US gets closer to the 4th of July, commonly known as the holiday celebrating how to influence politics by hiding behind trees and shooting people. Our Twitter and Facebook pages will provide sales as we find them, and stay subscribed to our YouTube account for how-to videos and reviews of components.

Intel Core i5-4670K ($220): This overclockable Intel chip features a 6MB L3 cache, Intel's integrated HD graphics, and works on any LGA 1150 motherboard presently out. All current games are played easily with this CPU, generally meaning the GPU is the likely bottleneck. Add an instant $10 savings and $20 off promo code (“EMCPDHF22”) at checkout to drop the final price down to $220. The price drop is a result of the recent Devil's Canyon 4690K release, which we used in a PC build over here.

ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 ($125): The ASRock Z97 motherboard not only has all the newest technology that Intel's rolled out for Devil's Canyon, but also comes in red -- which everyone knows means more speed and power and is totally not just an aesthetic choice. It starts with an $18 instant savings that is paired with a $15 MIR, and then finishes off the savings by doing a $30 combo deal if you purchase a i7-4790K with it.

Corsair Obsidian Series 250D ($71): If you are looking to build an HTPC or have space requirements that need a Mini-ITX case, Corsair's 250D is worth a look. The case is designed for a full-size video card, 5.25” external bay (helpful if you are wanting to use this to play Blu-ray and DVD movies), a 240mm radiator, and normal ATX sized PSU. The case also comes with room for 5 fans (2x80mm, 2x120mm, and 1x140mm) to create great airflow in a tiny space. Use promo code “JCRSAP10” at checkout to drop the final price to $71.

Pick of the week

Logitech G700s ($60): Logitech's G700s comes with 13 programmable buttons and the option of going wired or wireless, making this a highly versatile gaming tool. Last year we did an in-depth review of the G700s. One of the conclusions we came to was that it isn't worth $100, but since the current sale brings it down to $60, this is definitely worth consideration.
