Unreal Engine 4 Virtual Reality "Showdown" Test Released Free
Posted on September 3, 2015
Epic Games has posted a showdown for the all the major virtual reality headsets currently competing. Those who own or have access to an Oculus DK2 (and up), Sony Morpheus (a device that seems aptly named for Showdown), or HTC Vive can download and run Epic’s Matrix-inspired VR experience.
The scene plays out in a bullet-time-styled slow-motion gun fight between SWAT-like humanoids and a large mech. And there’s even a car flip -- even though it’s not exactly like Epic Games UE Community Manager Chance Ivey described to us.
The clip has made its way around the world, following the Epic Games crew to GDC, VRLA, FMX, SIGGRAPH, and more; and now, users can download it and enjoy at home for free. The download includes its Unreal Engine 4 content library for interested parties.
For those of us without VR setups in the house, there’s still YouTube.
And if you’re at Immersed Europe, Oculus Connect 2, SEA-VR, or VR Intelligence in the coming months, you can check it out for yourself on the intended devices.
