Users on the cutting edge of Microsoft's new Windows 10 builds should likely already have build 10162, which launched on July 2. The build was Microsoft's third Windows 10 build in a single week, reinforcing the company's commitment to a nearing launch date. The OS is slated for a July 29 release.
This week's updates resolved 300 pending bugs. Alongside bug fixes, updates were instated for the UI and Edge browser, with the login screen seeing a facelift and new logo.
Microsoft's statement on the update is below:
"We just released Build 10159 with our new wallpaper and logon UI on Tuesday, but this is a holiday weekend in the U.S. and we thought that some of you might want to get an even fresher build on your PCs to play with over the long weekend. Build 10162 is another great one. In fact, our testing and internal telemetry metrics show it has better reliability, performance, battery life, and compatibility than any Windows 10 Insider Preview build so far.”
The OS will begin rolling-out in a few weeks. Upgrades from existing Windows platforms – Win7 and Win8 – are still available for users who seek migration.
