Valve Hardware Sold-Out: Controllers and Steam Machines Limited by Supply
Posted on June 29, 2015
Excitement continues to build over Valve’s long-awaited Steam Machines -- PCs that will come preloaded with the SteamOS. Many fans, though, will have to wait a little longer for their own machines as the first line of pre-orders for Steam Controllers and Steam Links have already sold out. October 16 is the expected shipping date for Steam’s first public venture into hardware.
For those interested, pre-orders are still available for both Valve’s Steam Controller and Steam Link, but any orders placed now will ship on November 10th instead of in October. Similarly, Steam Machines shipping dates are being pushed back for any new pre-orders as well. Alienware’s Steam Machine shipping date is now 11/10 to match Valve’s and Syber’s, which now read “on or after 10/15.”
For those interested in having a Steam Machine -- defined as the controller and machine with SteamOS -- or Steam Link, now is the best time to pre-order as Valve has yet to comment on the supply of these devices. Remember to stay tuned to GamersNexus for previews of the hardware going forward.
